Prof.Gang Zhou Visited Our Group

Prof. Gang Zhou from College of William and Mary visited the Network Technology Research Center at ICT. On 19 May 2011, he gave a research talk titled "Towards Creating Confident Wireless Sensor Networks". In this talk, he presented recent efforts of providing both sensing and communication confidence in the real-world wireless sensor networks designed for performance-critical applications.

Prof. Gang Zhou is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at the College of William and Mary. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Virginia in 2007. He has published 37+ wireless communication and sensor networking papers in prestigious conferences and journals. The total citations of his papers are 1700+ according to Google Scholar, among which the MobiSysí04 paper has been cited 500+ times. Also, he has 7 papers each of which attracts 100+ citations since 2004. Dr. Zhou served session chair and technical program committee positions for 39+ academic conferences, including IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE ICDCS, IEEE RTSS, IEEE IPDPS, etc. He is a reviewer for 29+ journals, such as ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks, ACM Transactions in Embedded Computing Systems, IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, etc. He is also a reviewer for 45+ conferences, such as ACM SENSYS, IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE ICDCS, IEEE RTSS, etc. Dr. Zhou served as NSF and GENI proposal review panelists multiple times during 2008~2011. He received an award for his outstanding service to the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society in 2008. He is also a recipient of the Best Paper Award of IEEE ICNP 2010.
